At The Roots Collective, we want to help you find the right questions to navigate the sometimes daunting journey of self-discovery. As a community, we explore the evolution of artistic expression through the rediscovery of our core identity. From there we can plant our roots, allowing us to grow and expand into that which we have known ourselves to be all along.

The Roots Collective is a group of individuals who seek more from their artistic community. Through the arts, we will endeavour to create a place that is safe for individual expression. In doing so, we can connect to one another in a grounded and vulnerable way, thus strengthening our sense of artistic community.

OUR PROGRAM
Our program is a three month gathering of artists for creative exploration. Groups meet once a week to pursue some of the fundamental elements of rediscovery whilst also creating an individual expression piece, to be showcased at the end of the program. By the end of three months, we hope that participants can leave The Roots Collective with a better sense of self, and of community with whom they can continue to create.

FAQ
WHAT IS THE COST?
At The Roots Collective, our aim is to provide a space for communal growth. There is no cost to apply or participate in this program aside from your time and heart. There might be the occasional time that we ask you to bring food or art supplies, but that will only be to supplement the basic materials already provided.
WHEN WILL THE PROGRAM BE?
Our 2019 program will run from June to August, with our showcase taking place at the end of August. Dates will be specified in accordance with the availability of our participants.
DO YOU HAVE TO BE AN ARTIST TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM?
Not at all! We encourage people from all walks of life to participate, be they budding creatives or flourished artists. We want to see personal growth, which looks different for everyone. As long as you can remain open the process of evolution, there is a place for you.
